Your Image is Your Logo...

It's your personal branding. It’s the thing that makes you instantly identifiable and unique from those around you. Your image is the visual cue that others judge you on within approximately ten seconds of meeting you.

People make all sorts of assumptions about your age, wealth, success, marital status, health, home life, the car you drive, the job you do; all based on your physical appearance! And you do it too when you meet or see other people, don’t you? Come on admit it! If you are in control over your image and how to present yourself, this is a great thing, as you get to show other people the positive elements of who you are straight away, making a great first impression.

You see what we actually say (the words or content) only actually accounts for 7% of our communication. It’s our image, voice tonality and body language that tells the story of what we are really saying, and most of the time this is the bit that most people aren’t as conscious of.

Clothing and the way you dress can be such a powerful tool if you gain control over your behaviour, as it allows you to create perceived value immediately through how you present yourself and, a positive first impression can have a powerful and lasting effect. People remember you because you have an image that truly represents you, and people you meet want to know more about you because you created a great first impression.

A strong personal image can make people remember you for all the right reasons, just as poor personal presentation (or imitation) can leave a lasting memory of you but not in the way you would like! As Coco Chanel once famously said “The badly dressed woman, they remember the clothes. With the well-dressed woman, they remember the woman.” In other words, when a woman feels comfortable and looks great, it allows her personality to shine through and exude confidence.
