Vote Nicola Cupples for Freya’s New Blog Star!

A few weeks ago I entered a competition to be the next Blog Star for Freya Lingerie, and was thrilled to be chosen as one of their four finalists!

The task was to select your favourite Freya piece from AW12 and write in less than 100 words why you love that particular set.

I chose Gem – a beautiful little black lace set and what I’m referring to as my lingerie equivalent of the LBD. With its’ lace inspired print, Gem has me down to a T – I don’t want much, I just want it all. Luxury, sex-appeal, femininity, a nod to current trends but above all comfort and practicality, to cater for the different ‘hats’ I wear throughout the day.

Freya Blog Star Competition

Style verses function is definitely an issue many women face with their wardrobes. Ever said “Why don’t I go and slip in to something a little less comfortable darling?”. Yes well comfort and sex appeal when it comes to clothing don’t often always go hand in hand, unless your man happens to have a pj fetish.

In my experience when women dress for comfort, it’s ‘quick’, ‘easy’ and ‘practical’ but often also ‘unfeminine’, ‘scruffy’ and ‘frumpy’. Wereas I try to find them practical, comfortable style solutions that also look the part. For me, Gem ticks all the boxes – practical, stylish and sexy. What’s not to love?!
