So today I took a client personal shopping in Manchester. We met at The Trafford Centre, Manchester where my lovely client was feeling relaxed and somewhat relieved to see her Personal Shopper again! Bless her! 
My client HATES shopping! Yes, HATES it – and frequently I am coming across more and more women who use a personal shopper in the North West because they hate shopping so much. This is often due to the fact that when they go shopping for clothes by themselves, they come home with everything (that they don’t need) or nothing that they needed. This becomes a constant source of stress, frustration and that common feeling of defeat!
So what did we buy?? Well the brief was, we needed new outfits for work that had to be smart, comfortable and warm (without itching!) and then some nice ‘smart casual’ outfits for weekends and casual Fridays at work (always a terrifying thought for this particular client).
Here are some of the great pieces we bought, that I recommended as her Personal Shopper, that should keep her going until April next year….
M&S Shawl Collar Jacket, £55
This Shawl Collar Jacket from Marks & Spencer is an amazing AW11 piece to update your wardrobe. It can be worn with jeans to smarten up a tee OR can be teamed with a pencil skirt for work. At £55 this is a Personal Shopper fave for me.
In winter it’s good to have some key capsule pieces in your wardrobe, and as a Personal Shopper, it’s always my advice to go for basic, but with that little bit of something extra!! We don’t want boring – we want staple – something that will mix and match well with other pieces. This Damsel in a Dress long sleeve multi knot top fitted the bill perfectly!

These Damsel in a Dress Camel Trousers provided a chic workwear wardrobe update. The fabric – a stretch wool blend – is incredibly flattering and slimming on any figure and these trousers go up to a size 18.

We then headed over to Selfridges in Manchester’s Trafford Centre to pick up a couple of bits from Kookai such as this great tiger tee, which looks brilliant and effortless with skinny jeans and the M&S blazer above!
Oasis Long Sleeve Ponte Top £35
Another item we loved was Oasis’s Long Sleeve Ponte top which comes in a range of colours. This looks amazing for work, or with jeans at the weekend. A real figure flatterer and the answer to every Personal Shopper’s prayers!
